Tamilnadu is the most southern state of India on east coast, having rich cultural heritage and tradition of festivals. Government of Tamilnadu has declared tourism as an industry of the state. Hence the government is very much tourist friendly. Urbanization in this state is much better than any other state in India. Tamil is the official language of this state but English is also widely used. Instead of saying hello, good morning, good evening etc. to some one, say "VANAKKAM" in this state to get good response.

Chennai
Chennai is the capital of this state. Having population of about 1 Crore (10 million) people; it is a Paradise on Earth for all kinds of people. This Metropolitan city is attracting everyday about 120000 National and International visitors of all types, including tourists, pilgrims and business visitors.

Trichy (Thiruchirapalli)
This city has 6 misspelt names. Situated in center of Tamilnadu on the bank of Kaveri river haves World"s Largest temple complex. This city is famous for its artificial diamonds and rubys and is a major engineering hub of India.

Madurai
Madurai is called "The Temple City" and "Athens of East". Meenakshi temple, the greatest architectural wonder of ancient India is here. You can know it by actually seeing it, any description about it is not enough.

Kanchipuram
Kanchipuram is called "The Sacred City" "City of 1001 Temples" "City of Shankeracharya" "City of Kanjiwaram Sarees" etc. This city is one of the seven holy cities of India. it is just 75 kms from Chennai.

Kanyakumari
In the map of India, the city of Kanyakumari can be seen at bottom, hence there is no land south to it, only three seas meet here, the Indian ocean, the Arabian sea and Bengal sea.
